Central Ward Casual Vacancy – Notice of Election

More than 10 residents in the Central Ward within Chalfont St Peter have called for an election with regards the current Casual Councillor Vacancy.

Below is the notice of Election from Chiltern District Council.

If more than one nominee has applied for the vacancy the election will take place on Thursday 5th May 2016. 

NOTICE OF ELECTION

Chiltern District Council Election of a Parish Councillor for the Central Ward of Chalfont St Peter

Parish Council listed below

Number of Parish Councillor to be elected Chalfont St Peter Parish Council (Central Ward) One

1. Forms of nomination for the Parish Election may be obtained from the Clerk to the Parish Council, Chiltern District Council website www.chiltern.gov.uk/by-election , or the Returning Officer who will, at  the request of an elector for any            electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.

2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, King George V House, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW on any day after the date of this notice but no later than 4 pm on Thursday, 7th April 2016.

3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 5th May 2016.

4. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at King George V House, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW by 5 pm       on Tuesday, 19th April 2016.

5. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at King George V House, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW by 5 pm on Tuesday, 26th April 2016.

6. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at King George V House, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW     by 5 pm on Thursday, 5th May 2016. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on Tuesday, 26th April 2016. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station     in person after 5 pm on Tuesday, 26th April 2016

 

If the election is contested it will be held on Thursday 5 May (the same day as the PCC election) and both polling stations will be at Parish Church Hall, Church Lane, Chalfont St Peter
